About me

Life is about relationships - and our nearest are only sometimes our dearest. Relationships can at times become very challenging.

Mine and my several families' experiences include the challenges that arise from getting and staying married, having and parenting children, relocations, work related issues and career changes, redundancy and unemployment, chronic serious illness, stress, depression, adoption, disability, alcoholism, domestic violence, suicide, bereavement, separation and divorce, merging families, adapting to different life stages, caring for aging parents and, more recently, living and working between different countries.

I offer my clients the opportunity to explore safely and confidentially how their difficulties have arisen and what relief and change is possible. Together we work through what might be blocking them from making the changes they want and consider how and when clients might move forward and out of their stuck positions.

Pamela has been married for over 40 years and has 3 children, 3 grandchildren - and 1 granddog!

A couple attending a counselling session

Couple counselling aims to help partners:

  • Increase their understanding of underlying problems as well as more obvious difficulties between them.
  • Reduce the power of disappointments and hurts, both past and present, thereby freeing them to discover new ways of relating.
  • Identify where their communications are going wrong and explore new approaches to develop more constructive interactions together.
  • Open a way to greater fulfilment both as part of a couple and as individuals.
Couple Counselling can also help separating partners:
Clarify their feelings and the choices they could make.
Explore the underlying reasons for their difficulties.
Mourn the loss of the relationship
Make parting as constructive as possible for all concerned.

Couple counselling is open to everyone over 18 years of age. Whether you are married, living together, separated, divorced or single, this confidential service can help you in dealing with your relationship difficulties.
